Cerba Research has grown rapidly in recent years (partly through a buy-and-build strategy) and is a highly dynamic organization. Its finance organization is continuously developing and challenged to provide insights that add value.
Position
As Business Controller, you will be responsible for a wide array of business control topics. Other than sharing observations and improvement suggestions, financial control activities are not part of the scope. This role is truly focused on providing insights from e.g. detailed analysis and dashboarding. To assure quality, you will continuously question and verify figures, and follow timelines for reporting.
A successful Business Controller can quickly adapt and remain flexible within a dynamic and changing environment. You have a hands-on, pro-active attitude, generate own ideas and continue to search for a solution where others tend to give up. With your analytical skills you will transform figures into managerial insights that add value. You are confident and take ownership of your projects. Strong presentation and communication skills allow you to convert complexity into digestible (steering) information for others. You are a team player and enjoy collaborating with departments other than your own. Last, you are able to quickly gain knowledge about company procedures, by networking and looking at both financial as well as non-financial figures. Each day an impact can be made, as not everything is set in stone in this dynamic environment.
About you
The Business Controller brings a smart and ambitious personality, who understands the business and is a true business partner for (local) management and the various departments. He/she understands how to be critical, questioning without judging, ability to think in solutions, drive the business further forward and recommend on accurate and timely analyses. Able to constantly balance between the long and the short-term objectives.
Your background
• A university degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related study;
• > 5+ years of working experience in similar role(s);
• Strong analytical skills, being structured and accurate;
• Strong work ethics and high integrity standards. You have the courage to voice issues when you see them;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trustful relationships, while being sensitive to cultural and personal differences. You’re fluent in business English, with Dutch and/or French being a nice to have;
• Excellent MS Excel, BI-tooling and data analysis skills;
