A leading Dutch digital infrastructure and fiber network operator is entering its next phase of growth and transformation. Backed by two prominent, highly reputable international investors, the company has completed a large-scale nationwide fiber rollout and is now focused on operational excellence, cash flow optimization, and preparing the business for future strategic opportunities, including a potential shareholder exit.
Position
As Strategic Finance & Capital Markets Director, you will act as a strategic partner to the CFO and lead a landmark refinancing program of approximately €2bn. You will oversee the full transaction lifecycle, from structuring through execution and closing, while helping shape the company’s capital structure and investor positioning. In parallel, you will play a key role in preparing and supporting the company toward a potential future shareholder exit, helping shape the equity story, investor readiness, and overall transaction preparedness.
This is a high-impact role at the intersection of finance, strategy, and capital markets, with direct exposure to senior leadership, shareholders, lenders, and external advisors.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end refinancing process, including structuring, execution, and closing;
- Advise the CFO on capital structure, pricing strategy, covenant frameworks, and investor positioning;
- Manage relationships with lenders, investors, advisors, and shareholders;
- Drive governance, timelines, and stakeholder alignment across the program;
- Oversee due diligence, data room management, and transaction documentation;
- Ensure high-quality financial models, reporting, and investor materials;
- Support exit readiness and development of the investment narrative.
Profile
We are looking for a senior finance professional with a strong track record in complex financing transactions and capital markets environments.
You bring:
- 15+ years of experience in leveraged finance, debt capital markets, investment banking, or corporate finance;
- Proven experience leading large-scale financing transactions (€1bn+ preferred);
- Strong understanding of financing structures, pricing dynamics, and investor expectations;
- Experience in private equity-backed environments;
- Exposure to M&A and/or exit processes is a plus;
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills;
- A hands-on, execution-driven mindset and the ability to perform in high-pressure environments.
