Do you want to be part of a growing team within the Netherlands and backed by a strong and global CIB infrastructure? For Santander CIB we are looking for an ambitious trade finance banker that can drive both the strategic and a trade & working capital finance dialogue with target clients.

Organisation

Santander CIB (SCIB) has a strong footprint in Europe and deep client relationships across various countries. As of 2020, SCIB established a branch in Amsterdam, representing a key market for SCIB and for Trade & Working Capital, where Santander is looking to further expand.


Global Transaction Banking is at the core of Santander and is seen as a key value add and differentiator to build long lasting client relationships. Santander Trade & Working Capital regularly tops the deal rankings and award tables in Europe, and are looking to further expand to achieve their ambitions.

Position

We are looking for a professional with an entrepreneurial mindset, a proven network of clients and a proven track record of trade & working capital finance origination.


Key responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for a portfolio of blue-chip clients in the Benelux where you will develop and drive new business and sales opportunities within Trade & Working Capital Solutions such as: documentary trade, supply chain finance, receivable solutions, prepayment & contract monetization, inventory finance, Buy Now Pay Later etc.;
  • Proactively identify and originate Trade Finance solutions to corporates headquartered in The Netherlands and Belgium;
  • Manage trustworthy relationships with coverage bankers, internal stakeholders and existing-and potential clients to facilitate deal execution;
  • Being strongly aligned with all other products of the bank in order to service clients at its best.

Profile

As a VP Trade & Working Capital Solutions, you are a strong trade finance business partner with a proven track record, who thinks in solutions for its clients. You have the commercial capacity and drive and are a pragmatic person that can balance the short and long-term pursuit of objectives.


Furthermore you recognize yourself in the following:

  • Proven experience in helping clients achieve their business ambitions through a solutions driven approach while building a strong client relationship;
  • Excellent time management skills and the adaptability to work under pressure with multiple priorities;
  • Strategic perspective and business curiosity in combination with an entrepreneurial mindset;
  • Motivated team player with strong stakeholder management skills;
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills;
  • A master degree and 8-10 years of relevant banking experience in a similar international working environment;
  • Fluency in Dutch and English. French and/or Spanish would be a plus.
